Ralf Rising

1 min read
Still hanging in there. Kind of bummed I didn't get to as many cons as I hoped, and I've been so busy it's taken longer to get the second Ralf book properly edited and uploaded. On the other hand I've been getting some great press for Ralf the Destroyer! Ralf was the September Pick of the Month on Webcomic Alliance, I had a long interview on TGT Media and I'm scheduled to chat live with Tom Racine (of Tall Tales Radio).  I'm still crunching on the Tales from the Floating Vagabond RPG which I'm hoping to wrap up soon. I feel like something big is right around the corner. :D

Well it looks like I won't be doing caricatures at the park this year due to car trouble. But I'm over due on Tales of the Floating Vagabond (there are many little gadgets to draw in perspective!) so the extra time is being used for that. The next Ralf the Destroyer book is due, but I needed to add a forward and a reformat it a bit still. Ralf is being published in Funnies Extra which is a free (local ad supported), color,  comics section distributed weekly... five editions so far with considerably more on the way. We're probably at the lowest economically we ever been at, but I am hopeful something miraculous will occur this month. We shall see. ;)

So far this year has flown by. I haven't posted anything in a while as a few projects I've been working on don't permit it. I'll be finishing up a graphic novel in a couple weeks and hopefully have something to post from that and some new images for the RPG I'm still chopping away at. That and my last entry was really old... I had to type something new.

Well, it's official! I am a guest! I will be attending the Philadelphia Comic Con June 17-18-19, 2011 Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. I am particularly jazzed since they have quite the guest list there, which now includes me too! Now not only is that cool but Wizard has also invited me to be a guest at the New England Comic Con running September 17-18, 2011 Saturday and Sunday at the Hynes Convention Center (Boston).

I may also be attending a Small Press Booth at the Pittsburgh Comic Con (April 15,16 &17th) as well. I have someone sponsoring me at this show, but I'm just waiting for the table confirmation before I officially announce it.

I attended Connecti-Con and The Baltimore Comic Con last year and had a great time at both, I hope to return to these shows as well, but need to get the arrangements straightened out first.

If any readers are attending these conventions please be sure to stop by and say hello! I will have original art on display and for sale along with the new book and mini comic. Not only that, but it's just cool to meet the people who enjoy making Ralf the Destroyer a part of their week. Hope I see you there!

P.S.: and a special thanks to Stephen Shamus for inviting me as a guest at Wizard World Shows ;)

I was reminded by my wife the other day that the One Year Anniversary of Ralf the Destroyer is fast approaching. November 16th 2009 was the official first strip on this web site and has been continuously updating each week. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it just yet, but I have just under two weeks to think of something.

I would also like to thank all the readers who have been following Ralf the Destroyer for this past year and all the new readers, who have started following Ralf's adventures, and contributed to its growing audience.
